Youth
Welcome to Youth Revolution! We are excited about youth at Life Community Church. Youth Revolution is for students 7th grade and up. We have several programs and events every month for teens.
Wednesday night youth group meetings take place during our evening service. Join us for relevant and challenging teaching as well as fun fellowship.
Sunday mornings we have two bible studies – one for 7th & 8th grade students and one for the older teens. Both feature practical teaching and fun fellowship.
Meet Our Youth Pastor
Pastor Renato (Ray) & Rachel Souza
Pastor Ray was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil in 1971. He got saved at the age of 17 through “Athletes for Christ Ministry” and right after that began attending a small local church in Brazil. After finishing high school he enrolled in the church’s Bible Institute as part of the very first class and in 1994 he was in the first graduating class. He married
Rachel in 1996 and together they came to the U.S. for two years while Ray pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Missions and Biblical Studies. Ray graduated in 1999 and was also ordained as a pastor.
After graduation, Ray & Rachel returned to Brazil to continue serving in the local church and in 2001 Ray became the senior pastor of the church he started attending as a young teenager. While in Brazil, God added two amazing gifts to this family – Matthew (age 9) and Marcus (age 5). Ray was pastor of the church in Brazil for 9 years and in 2010 was led of God to move to the U.S. with his wife and family.
Over the past 10 years, Ray has participated in various leadership conferences and summits promoted by ministries such as Willow Creek and Saddleback seeking to develop his own leadership skills, as well as, to train other leaders. In 2007 he was selected from a group of Brazilian pastors and leaders to receive a scholarship for intensive global leadership training for Evangelism at Haggai Institute in Maui, Hawaii. He is currently enrolled at Luther Rice University pursuing a Master’s Degree in Leadership.
As of February 2011, Ray is the youth pastor at LCC. After enjoying a brief season of rest and quality family time, God lovingly connected this family to LCC to serve the youth, their families and be a blessing to the whole church body.
