Baptism

What is Baptism?

The act of being immersed under water to publicly identify with the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:3-5) It is a clear calculated decision of a believer to declare before God, the angels; those in his local church, as well as his family that he wants to live his life for Jesus Christ according to the Bible. (I Cor. 4:19; I Peter 1:12; Ephesians 3:10) It is not a common ritual that should be taken lightly. Click here for a simple, but informative expose’ on baptism.

Annual Baptisms in the River

Every summer we gather together to celebrate with those who are being baptized.  This is a special event each year for the entire church.  We enjoy a wonderful picnic with great food, awesome fellowship, music, swimming and games for the kids.  After the picnic we enjoy a special time together as we watch those being baptized in the river.  What a privilege it is to be able to share in this joyous occasion!  This annual event takes place at the beach in Earlville, Maryland.  Please join us! See our events calendar for specific dates.  Event begins at 1:30pm directly after the 2nd service.  Get directions here!
