Impacting Our Community

It is our desire to show the love of Christ to those in our community.  We do this by reaching out and serving in our community.  Listed below are just some of the ways we impact our community, but there are many more.  For more information, please contact the church office.

Ways We Impact Our Community

Feed The Need Homeless Ministry – We serve meals at Marina Park in Elkton, Maryland every Friday night between 5 & 6pm. Please contact Micheal Thierry at (831) 818-3652 if you would like to participate.

Helping Hands Free Clothing Give-A-Way – Every few months we hold a children’s FREE clothing give-a-way.  This give-a-way is open to the community.  If you would like to help by donating clothing or any other child related items off,  you may do so any day of the year in our KidsLife basket.  If you would be interested in helping set up for this event, please email Amy Thierry or call (360) 562-5200.

Lydia’s Closet – Every month Lydia’s Closet opens to the women of the community.  This ministry exists to bless women with affordable clothing, shoes and accessories while at the same time allowing us to be good stewards of what we have.  Everything at Lydia’s Closet is only $1.00 and all proceeds benefit and support the women’s ministry. Come check it out!  Contact Kim Buckingham for more information or if you’d like to help set up on a Saturday.

Stephen Ministry – Our Stephen Ministers provide one-on-one Christian care. This is provided to our congregation as well as our community and you do not need to be a member of Life Community Church.  Whether you just need someone to talk to and pray with you once or twice or whether you need more long term care, we are here for you. We provide care to the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, separated, divorced, unemployed, relocated, and others facing a crisis or life challenge. To make a referral, please contact Joan Shields at (302) 456-9712 or Joe Konschnik at (302) 838-5796 or (302) 832-3569.

Vacation Bible School – This is a fun way for the kids to spend one week out of their summer vacation learning about and growing in their relationship with Jesus.  The children always have a blast (and so do the adults)!  VBS is open to the community and you do not need to be a member of Life Community Church to attend.

Life Line Screening – Every year Life Line Screening fe Line Screening holds it’s preventive health event to scan for the risk of stroke and other vascular conditions. This event is open to the community.

Newark Performing Arts -  Offers programs and performance opportunities in instruments, singing, dance and drama.  Available in group and individual settings with one goal – to grow the gifts unique within each child through the arts.  NPA has programs for every skill level and classes are taught by highly regarded instructors.
